(Austin, TX, April 16, 2008) – Dave Sather, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and President of Sather Financial Group in Victoria, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Business Bank of Texas (BBT) in Austin. BBT President, Ed Lette, who stated “Dave brings to our Board a highly experienced money management perspective to guide us in our responses to client investment concerns”, made the announcement. He added that “I’ve known Dave for nine years and I consider him a very knowledgeable advisor about investment portfolios and sound courses of action to take.”
Sather Financial Group is a wealth management consulting service started in 1999 in Victoria. Several recognitions received by Sather and his company include: One of America’s Top Wealth Managers in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions of Bloomberg’s Wealth Manager Magazine; one of the Top Fifty Fastest Growing Wealth Managers in the 2006 and 2007 editions of Financial Advisor Magazine; and One of America’s Best Financial Planners in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 editions of the Consumer’s Research Council of America.
Sather started his company after serving as an investment portfolio manager for a large brokerage company and a bank trust department. He stated that “while I loved the investment

business, I hated working on commission since it rewarded me for being a good salesman but not for helping my clients achieve their goals.” He added that his firm works strictly on a “fee-only” basis that lets him focus more on his clients’ needs in a holistic manner. In addition to investments, Sather Financial also provides estate, insurance, tax and retirement planning.
Sather says his appointment to the BBT Board falls right in line with his own professional philosophy about business. He commented that “the core of banking is about helping people and businesses grow. If you call BBT, you don’t get a voicemail maze. You get the CEO on the phone. Customers have a direct line to decision makers and they’ll find that decisions are made quickly by a seasoned team of in-the-bank professionals who truly understand their needs.” Sather added that “BBT understands the concept of credit quality and the kind of strategic partnering that businesses need from banks to make it in today’s economy.”
Sather is married to Dr. Carol Klages, a professor of education at the University of Houston in Victoria. He also serves as the Finance and Investments Chair of Brownson Children’s Home; Treasurer of the first English Lutheran Church; a member of the Executive Advisory Council of Texas Lutheran University; and a Business Board Member of Adopt-A-Pet.
